Chairs

Chairperson

The chairs of each committee will guide through the negotiations. Since the Model WTO is a simulation of a WTO Ministerial Conference, the negotiations will follow the a special rule set derived from the original WTO rule set. The Chairpersons will declare the opening and closing of each meeting, will direct the discussion, accord the right to speak, submit questions for decision, announce decisions and have complete control of the proceedings.

Chaircourse

To ensure the competence of the Chairpersons, a course is held by the University of St. Gallen, especially to train the abilities needed. Therefore the chair course is only for students of the University of St. Gallen. The course will include lectures, an exam and a paper, which will be published on our website as preparation for the negotiations in the different committees.

For further information please have a look at the chaircourse information.
