Successful negotiations at Model WTO 2007

On June 22nd the oikos Model WTO was closed with a final session at the WTO headquarters in Geneva. After successful negotiations during the preparatory phase in St.Gallen the committees came up with their final declarations. Unanimously the general assembly of the Model WTO adopted the common declaration of the five committees.
Previous to the  decision on the declaration the students had the opportunity to discuss their results with WTO experts. Participant Marcel Stenner dos Reis from Brazil tells of a great experience: “Meeting the experts of the WTO committees provided us with real negotiation insights.”
